La cerimonia dei Golden Globe,il premio della Hollywood Foreign Press Association che sancisce i migliori film e stagione televisive dell’anno, è da poco terminata e come era prevedibile a far incetta di premi è stato Bohemian Rhapsody.
Con due dei premi principali, il film su Freddy Mercury è stato premiato sia come miglior film drammatico, sia come miglior attore drammatico, con la perfetta interpretazione di Rami Malek del leader dei Queen. Il tanto acclamato A star is Born, riesce a portare a casa solo il premio per la migliore canzone, Shallow, deludendo le aspettative sia di Lady Gaga che di Bradley Cooper. L’altro protagonista della serata è Green Book, che vince il premio per la migliore commedia e quello per l’attore non protagonista Mahershala Ali, oltre alla sceneggiatura di Peter Farrelly. Anche il tenebroso e camaleontico Christian Bale, protagonista del film Vice, è stato premiato come miglior attore per un film commedia/Musical, mentre Glenn Close ha ricevutoil premio come miglior attrice per The Wife. Infine, Olivia Colman premiata come miglior performer per La favorita.
Per quanto riguarda le serie tv, The Americans si è aggiudicato il premio come migliore serie drammatica, mentre per le serie comedy trionfo indiscusso de Il metodo Kominsky,che riceve con Micheal Douglas anche il premio come migliore protagonista.
Una serata da ricordare anche per Alfonso Cuaron, premiato sia come regista che come miglior film straniero con Roma.
